Beta-carotene is considered a carotenoid of provitamin A. Vitamin A contributes to the normal function of the immune system, has a role in the process of cell specialisation, and contributes to the maintenance of normal skin. Wheat germ oil is a natural source of vitamin E and ALA – omega-3 fatty acids. Vitamin E helps protect cells from oxidative stress. Lecithin is a source of phosphatidylcholine, a component of fats that support the structural integrity of cell membranes.

Vitamin E, beta-carotene and lecithin are not the only substances hidden in wheat germ oil. This oil contains many other vitamins, minerals, phytosterols, phytohormones and unsaturated fatty acids. The latter also include linoleic acid and linolenic acid, which we must supply to the body in the diet, because it cannot synthesize them itself. We cold press wheat germ oil so that we do not damage the active substances it contains. Thanks to the high content of vitamin E, which acts as an antioxidant, it is more resistant to oxidation and rancidity than other oils.

Wheat germ oil is also used in cosmetology. It can be applied directly to the skin of the face-especially around the eyes – and hands.
